Take Shade

8"x24" mixed media encaustic

This piece was created after a recent trip to New Orleans. I love gathering inspiration during my travels and experiencing the unique landscapes and flora and fauna of new locations. The trees were so majestic and really captivated my imagination with their wise and sturdy presence.

The painting was created on a cradled birchwood panel 1 1/2" deep and comes wired and ready to hang. It includes encaustic, photo transfers, handmade paper, gold leaf, pastels, and oil paint.

15% of all sales made until the end of April will be donated to a local food pantry.

The human soul is hungry for beauty; we seek it everywhere - in landscape, music, art, clothes, furniture, gardening, companionship, love, religion, and in ourselves. No one would desire not to be beautiful. When we experience the beautiful, there is a sense of homecoming.
