The Gift of an Ordinary Day
This series was born out of a season of pause and reflection—a quiet reckoning with change, motherhood, and the passage of time. After an intense period of studio work, I found myself needing to step back and listen for what wanted to emerge next. The transition of my son leaving home brought a wave of emotion and nostalgia that guided me back to something deeply personal: the beauty and sacredness of ordinary life.
 
The imagery is drawn from vintage photographs- fragments of other lives from another era. These pieces explore memory, belonging, and the tender balance between holding on and letting go. They are inspired by the rhythms of family life, the fleeting magic of childhood, and the small, luminous moments that shape who we are. Through layered encaustic surfaces, I aim to capture both the fleeting nature of time and the way the quiet gift of everyday continues to shape us in every season.
